Tab Manager
Collapse every open tab into one tidy list. Restore anytime.
A OneTab-style tab manager with the feature OneTab never shipped: full-text search across every saved tab. Groups, locking, export and import — all stored on your device.
- Save this window, every window or just one tab
- Full-text search across titles and URLs
- Lock, rename, restore, export as JSON or Markdown
Features
What Tab Manager does
Save all tabs in this window
Closes them and stores them as a named, timestamped group. Pinned tabs and non-http pages are left alone.
Save every window, or just one tab
One group per window, or append the current tab to today's group.
Full-text search
Search across every saved tab by title and URL — instantly.
Groups you control
Rename inline, restore all, restore & remove, delete, and lock a group so it can't be deleted or auto-removed on restore.
Export & import
A JSON backup file and copy-as-Markdown for sharing lists.
Built for thousands of tabs
Uses unlimitedStorage and live-updates across pages via storage.onChanged.
Under the hood
How it works
No magic, no server. Here's what actually happens when you use it.
- 01
Save
The popup queries the window's tabs, stores them as a group and closes them to free memory.
- 02
Browse
The list page shows every group; click a saved tab to reopen it, hover ✕ to remove without opening.
Transparency
Every permission, explained
Chrome shows you a list at install time. This is the list, and why each item is there.
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
| tabs | Read tab titles and URLs to save them, and reopen them on restore. |
| storage, unlimitedStorage | Keep thousands of saved tabs on your device. |
| alarms, notifications | Check the TaskGo announcement feed every 6 hours. |
