Features
What SEO Audit does
AI visibility score
See whether ChatGPT search, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and 13 other crawlers may fetch the page, whether snippet controls keep it out of AI Overviews, and whether the content exists without JavaScript — most AI crawlers don't run it.
Indexability, headers included
HTTP status and redirects, noindex in robots meta or the X-Robots-Tag header, robots.txt rules for this exact URL, canonical conflicts and canonicals changed by JavaScript.
Google result preview
Your title and description cut at Google's pixel widths — not character counts — plus the Open Graph card people see when the page is shared.
Schema validation
Required properties for Product, Recipe, Event, LocalBusiness, Video, Job posting and more, and a heads-up when markup targets rich results Google has retired, like FAQ and HowTo.
Core Web Vitals
LCP, CLS and INP from your visit with Google's thresholds, TTFB, lazy-loaded hero images and oversized images that slow the page down.
Broken links & content
Safe HEAD checks on up to 40 internal links, generic anchors, heading outline with skipped levels, readability, top keywords, author, dates and entity markup.
Reports
A multi-page PDF with both scores, every check tagged PASS/WARN/FAIL and the AI crawler table — or the same report as Markdown on your clipboard.
Under the hood
How it works
No magic, no server. Here's what actually happens when you use it.
- 01
Collect
Clicking the icon grants activeTab; the popup injects a collector that reads the page and makes same-origin requests from your browser — the page itself for headers and raw HTML, robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt and a sample of internal links.
- 02
Grade
Checks follow Google Search Central's 2026 guidance. Pass = full weight, warning = half, fail = zero. AI-engine heuristics are labelled as suggestions, because Google says AI Overviews need no special optimisation.
- 03
Report
Six tabs — Overview, Checks, AI, Preview, Outline, Meta — and a PDF hand-assembled in vanilla JS with zero dependencies.
Transparency
Every permission, explained
Chrome shows you a list at install time. This is the list, and why each item is there.
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
| activeTab | Audit only the tab you click on, only when you click. |
| scripting | Inject the page collector. |
| storage | Cache the announcement feed for the What's new list. |
| alarms, notifications | Check the TaskGo announcement feed every 6 hours. |

Honest notes
Known limitations
Things it can't do, so you don't have to find out the hard way.
- Core Web Vitals come from your visit on your device, not Google's field data. INP needs you to interact with the page before re-scanning.
- Redirect chains aren't visible — only that a redirect happened and where it ended.
- Broken-link checks cover links on the same site only, and some checks show “couldn't be checked” on sites whose security policy blocks them.
- The PDF uses Latin-1 text, so non-Latin characters become “?” in the PDF (the popup and Markdown are fine).
